Is it possible to manually upgrade PSP RAM?

I have the old-school 1000 PSP model.

I was wondering if it was possible to buy some RAM (For the PSP) and manually install it? If that were possible.

The Slim and 3000 have a capacity of 64 MB RAM, so I was wondering if its possible to do this with the PHAT.

Any ideas, suggestions, recommendations?

I doubt it, it probably requires too much work and reprogramming files to use the extra ram and all that stuff. If it was then we most likely woulda heard about it. Would be cool though.

I tried doing research, but I had no luck. Although I did find many forums saying it was highly unlikely. ):

Even if it were possible to add more ram, it wouldn't be used because the PSP isn't coded to use the extra ram.
