I voted so you all know where I stand on this.

Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize because he gave a speech about how America was not going to be "unilateralist" anymore like the last president was. The award is a way to:

1. Keep him at his word for the speech he gave.

2. Assist him in any plans to achieving the ultimate goal of world peace and human rights.

I also agree with the sentiment that the prize is meaningless; I mean, they gave it to Yasser Arafat of all people and they have yet to award it even posthumously to someone more deserving like Dr.King.

What else says peace but the move toward ending the war, working to restore world order, rebuilding citizen's right to health care, and aiming towards a world without nuclear war? This prize is not about achievements already made, but about the effort that most people won't make towards peace. I wonder how this is not obvious to everyone.
The opposite of war isn't peace, it's creation!

how about his nomination before even being sworn in. The fact that his solution to everything in a recession is spending. And with every "change" he makes puts the US dollar one step closer to being absolutely worthless. Bush got so much slack for spending and Obama is making it worse.

If preventing war was the reason he got the award, it's only because the US dollar will drop so low in value we straight up won't be able to afford to fight.

Good point here. I keep hearing whispers of the dollar loosing it's reserve currency status. Once this happens inflation will be so bad that the average person won't be able to afford a pack of gum.

The painful truth is that all of this is George W Bush's fault. If he didn't introduce tax cuts in 2000 and if he had left the Clinton surpluses in place America would have been en route to eliminate the national debt by 2011.

As for Obama's spending he was counting on the banks that took bailouts to pay the money back. Some have already but there is some suspicion that many won't.

Sadly no one even remembers why we invaded Afghanistan in the first place. America had/has no reason to be there. Despite receiving the award Obama will still send more troops there further pushing America into debt and devaluing the dollar out of existence.

i dont want to.... BECAUSE I LOVE AMERICA, seriously though just that statement seems a provocative, like he wants people to be ticked at him or to inspire rage in his fellow leftists, also the statement is redundant he in essence accuses republicans of being racist while the statement itself is in its own way racist.....

for the record i dont mean leftists in a bad way merely as a classification

I get you and your meaning.

I have been trying to get America to realize that there is no left or right. Those are only labels used to keep the masses divided. "A house divided can not stand"--Lincoln

If people knew the truth about how things REALLY run... Aw who am I kidding they still wouldn't do $hit.

The majority of Americans like Obama at some certain level still even though many don't agree with his policies, but I would also say that most Americans believe that Obama does not even come close to deserving the Nobel Peace Prize.
