Did I brick my PSP?

I followed the tutorial to downgrade my firmware to 1.50 and then upgrade to 3.03 OE-C. I've been using an NES emulator for a couple of weeks now and everything has been working great. I thought that I'd throw in GTA LCS to check it out today and I'm assuming that I didn't remove some files that I needed to (probably for the initial downgrading). After the loading screen came up, the screen went black and the memory stick light was on solid. I didn't know what to do at that point, so I hit the X button and then the unit froze. Right now it's powered on and I can't power it off or reset it. It was almost out of battery power, so I'm charging it right now.

Am I screwed or is there a way that I can go through recovery mode?

Thanks in advance for any help that you guys can provide.

I have not tried that. I am a newcomer, so bear with me - basically, I pull out the battery to shut the unit off, then plug it in, hold down the right trigger and then hold the power switch?

Yea just take the battery out. And all that does is, is run HEN-D. So you didn't brick. Just take the battery out and put it back in and it should be fine. Be sure to delete the downgrader files though. Or just reformat your mem stick.

O you probably don't need to go to recovery mode if you want to, but if you feel like it, then that's how you do it.

Thanks a bunch guys. I followed your instructions and hit X on Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP. The screen turns black, the memory stick light flashes briefly, and then the unit turns off after about 15 seconds. After that, I try to turn the unit back on, but I just get a black screen. I've even tried using my other memory card. Am I missing something?

So, did I hurt anything by going into recovery mode? If I didn't, where do I go from here?

that blue screen with all the options was the recovery mode. the recovery eboot.pbp is what you hit when you brick your psp on custom firmware but you have to previously have things in certain folders for that to work.

whats your psp doing now?

Ok - basically it's doing the same thing that it was before I pulled the battery out. If I hit the power button, it will power up, the memory stick light will flash briefly and the screen is black.

Just to update anyone who has read, I downloaded the recovery files at this link:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/mm3kyz

I then ran the .exe program that extracted the files onto my memory stick. I fully charged the unit and plugged it in and then held the right trigger and turned the unit on. I ran the recovery option and now my PSP is back in firmware 1.50.

Thanks to all who helped me out on this. I damn near crapped myself when I thought I bricked my PSP, but I'm good to go now!
