I use a laptop now as my primary computer. I have 2gb of RAM running at 4-4-4-8 timings (DDR2 533) and I've been running Vista Aero from day 1. I don't even realize that "Aero" is running... everything is nice and fast by itself. 2gb of RAM, any speed, definitely good for Vista. DarkPacMan77 approved.

are u sure its turned on? Cause i know a few people who were like "Stupid aero, it doesnt look any different!" and i turned it on and it was like their face lit up. lol.
On premium (for all who wants to know) righ click on ur desktop and select personalize. Then windows color and appearence. Finally selct windows aero on the color scheme. Then its all good from there. I changed it to aero black which is really nice. 3D effects, pop up, sidebar (is ok), and a whole lot of other stuff makes Vista a thumbs up for me too.
DPM is u have any questions u can PM me and i will help u out with. I got it when it first came out. I even did the hack to do a clean install on a upgrade CD (ur not supposed to do that.lol) And by the way SP1 is coming out in jan. for vista and SP3 is coming out in Jan. for XP.

I got XP but im thinking of getting OS X leopard cuz u can use leopard and vista.
My computor is based on spare parts which eventually got upgraded and put in a random comp box. It says i got a AMD Duron but i dunno
