psp with harddrive

As demonstrated with the iPod, in order to keep up with consumers insatiable appetite you have to upgrade your hardware to meet their demands. It seems that Samsung may have accidently shown Sony's next step during the launch of there new 1.8 inch N-Series Hard drives.

If you look at the picture above, the hardware may look slightly familiar ;) . As CES is coming soon there is a possibility that a formal announcement may be coming soon… or like apple they could try to keep it a secret.

WHO LOVES YA?
DARK_ALEX!

The PSP Homebrew world's Santa just delivered a late Xmas (or any other non-denominational holiday) present to all of us! A legitimate TA-082 Downgrader has been released for those using Firmware 2.71 running HEN-D! It appears to be aimed toward downgrading to 1.5, but there's no word on if it can be used for other firmwares. Here's the instructions from the readme file:

1. Copy the UPDATE and idstoragechange folders into /PSP/GAME/
2. Get the official sony 1.50 eboot and put it in the /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder with the name of UPDATE.PBP
3. Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
4. Execute the idstoragechange. It needs 75% battery. It will change some keyes of your idstorage needed to downgrade the ta-082.
5. The program will exit to the XMB. Now execute the generic downgrade, which will show in the xmb as "Update X.YX" in the psp language.
6. The generic downgrader will also need 75% battery. IT will downgrade your psp to 1.50.
7. At the end, it will ask you to press X to restart the psp. Do it.
8. If all went fine, you'll receive a blue screen telling you to press O. Do it, and reenter your settings. Welcome to 1.50.
9. If things didn't go that fine, you'll have a non-functional psp, aka brick.

Have fun, and enjoy your new TA-082 1.5 firmware PSP!

Thanks to chaoszero, for those of you who are quite fond of an easy installation,
this application is the way to go.

The OE-A auto installer will automatically input configuration and install OE-A on you\’re PSP. You are required to have 1.50. It even installs the recovery folder for your OE-A!

Other requirements are that you must have you\’res battery charged over 75-80%. You must also have the GAME folder to be present even if you are not deciding for 2.71. The first thing you must run will be the 3.02 OE-A Firmware Install which should be in your GAME folder. If you have any questions please do not hesitate, ask on the forums.

Remember, you use this at you\’re own risk, we are not held responsible for any incidents that may occur.

All you\’re dreams have come true! 2.80 revolution (not the game) but the downgrader! Developement is currently being worked through. We had our doubts on 0okm, but hes back today to proove us wrong. But sorry folks, not only does it not work on TA-082 users, but it does require 1.50.
Heres how to install:

Quote From PSP Hacks:

1. Run moonlight’s “FW2.60 DownDate helper” on FW1.50 PSP to Dump “FW1.50 File” or Download “FW1.50 File” from psp-hacks downdater_final.rar.
Extract downdater_final.rar \\DOWNDATER\\ all file to ms0:\\DOWNDATER\\
2. Run FW150IPL_Dumper on FW1.50PSP to Dump ms0:\\DOWNDATER\\PRX\\FW150_ipl.bin
NOTE: if no FW150_ipl.bin in ms0:\\DOWNDATER\\PRX\\
Run FW280DownDate4TA-079 will brick your PSP !!!

3. Run FW280DownDate4TA-079 By xLoader
NOTE: Don’t use eLoader to Run FW280DownDate4TA-079 it will brick your PSP !!!

Thats right folks! Dark Alex\’s Kernal dumping for 2.80 was a smash hit, but now 3.02 Custom Firmware? No way! Yes way sais Birdman. From what you got from the previous firmwares, spontanious would be the best to say once you have seen these new features:

• Runs 3.02 vsh
• Can run homebrew using 3.02 kernel
• UMD Video region free
• PSP kernel region selector
• O/X button selector
• WMA enabling option
• Flash player enabling option
• Pops (SCE PSONE emulator) – DRM protection hacked (Which means that you can now your game on more than one psp, and share them over the internet)

The design of the homebrew is only in specter hands, but for all you 3.00+ lovers, please I reccomend a good upgrade on this baby. Were gone from the bronze and silver ages, its time to fulfill our new golden ages with OE-A developement! Enjoy!

\"LCD\"

Our own forum user, crait, has just released a handy little creation for the PSP. His new "Pixer Fixer" program is just what you\’re looking for if you hate the video pixel fixers or have a 32MB Memory stick. I myself don\’t like the video one, and I can\’t get the LUA ones to work, so this is just the right fit. He posted this comment along side:

"Hey guys, I decided to create a program that randomly prints thick lines to your psp screen. The program is used to unstick stuck pixels from your screen without the need of downloading a 30 megabyte video that does the same exact thing.
This way, people can actually fit it on thier memory card. Especially for those who only have a 32 megabyte card. The Eboot file is about 150kb.
This works on 1.0 and 2.00+ psp\’s. It will also work on a 1.5 psp if you have custom firmware installed.

Enjoy!"

The new spunk funky looking game: Chase That Pyramid not only is in 3D, but its got a new reputation in the homebrew scene. Tactical Penguin has brought a lot of homebrew to us, but to me this is the most odd. A random pyramid must be chased in this game,
the feeling to me is that he chose such an object as to coding pyramid shapes are fairly you\’re main basic ones.
The game comes with some good tables and a nice looking radar on the top left.

Tactical Penguin hopes for these to come in his future releases:

  • Make texture for pyramid
  • Different camera views
  • More detailed environment
  • SFX
  • Anything else suggested

Im pretty much looking forward to the texture map, a good scene could spice this game up! He wants to thank Joe48182 for compiling the stand alone eboot.pbp file for him. Also to some others as Youresam and alatnet for getting him started on the 3D environment for PSP.
