Looking for a new way to make sure you\’re PSP is secure and safe? azy_xbox123\’s boot protector application is the way to go! WIth this new app out, 2.71 users are able to safeguard their PSP screens at startup.
How? He has ensured that there is a password at bootup when this is on you\’re PSP.
Heres what azy has for us:
  • USB disabled by high demand and higher security!
  • At the moment azy_xbox123 is unable to encrypt the files but instead he has hidden the password file and obscured the file type!
  • Slight GFX Update
  • * Various bugfixes including the proper exiting on 2.71SE
You can find azy_xbox123 at the qjforums for contact information (link enlisted above).

\"Megaman

Our own News Administrator, Mailas G, has released an update to his homebrew, Megaman Power Blasters. Now up to v1.7, you can fire multiple shots! As of now, there isn\’t much to it, and he admits it\’s been a while since he gave it an update. The controls are simple, and it lets you control both characters.

The D-pad controls Megaman: up and down to move with the right arrow to fire, while the buttons control Protoman: Triangle and Cross to move, and Square to fire.

Expect more updates from Mailas, and a few new features coming your way.

\"Chotto
So, you got a new Chotto Shot PSP USBcam, but you don\’t want to have to upgrade to 2.82 to use it. Well, my friend, look no farther. This little app will flash 2 prx files required to run it, and then BOOM! No need to upgrade, just enjoy your new Chotto Shot USB Cam!

Here\’s the text from Zephyrus\’s translated Readme:
"This is a simple flashing application that allows you to flash the usbcam.prx & usbmic.prx over to your custom 2.71 SE fw. It allows SE users to use the USB Camera aka ChottoShot on the SE custom firmware without upgrading to 2.82."

Keep in mind that the app is coded in Japanese, but the Readme file provides an english translation.

Scince Art now has xFlash working on 2.71 SE, and is more experienced with PSP flashing, He wont be releasing any more updates.  He dose wish the Best of luck to Art and xFlash, as do we.

Dark_AleX has, once again, updated his 2.71 SE-B custom firmware. Now at v3, the firmware has matured very well, and has alot of good features. Here is whats new in the lates update:

  • Added SFO version bypass to real umd\’s. (this should enable gta vcs umd to be played).
  • Fixed the problem of error 0×8002012D in certain games when plain modules is enabled. Because the problem is gone, the updater will reset the option of plain modules to enabled. If for some reason you still have that error, report it and disable the option, but it should be fixed now.

Found and corrected 3 bugs regarding no umd:

  • One of them affected Virtual Tennis and potentially a lot of other games.
  • The other two affected GTA LCS and GTA VCS.
  • Some games like Burnout Legend still don\’t run in no-umd because of what seems a kernel stack problem.

Since this is an update to SE-B, its best for new users to get to this by installing SE-A first, then updating to SE-B, to SE-B\’, then finaly SE-B v3 (link is below).

For those who have already gotten to SE-B\’, all you have to do is put the extracted folder in your memory stick and run the update. Enjoy the download below.

MaTiAz made a small update to his PSPpaint application, bringing it to version 0.51. Apperently he fixed "some minor annoyances" and also added a new palette that now totes gray scales feature.

Basic Controlls:

  •  UP – Makes the brush shorter vertically
  • DOWN – Makes the brush longer vertically
  • LEFT – Makes the brush shorter horizontally
  • RIGHT – Makes the brush longer horizontally
  • X – Paints with the selected color (hold to draw longer)
  • TRIANGLE – Shows the color selection menu
  • START – Asks if you want to clear the image
  • SELECT – Saves the image (always creates a new image) to ms0:/PSP/PHOTO/PSPpaint/
  • L – Use it with the analog stick to move the brush faster (makes ugly jaggies)
  • R – Paints with white, acts as the eraser

PSPpaint v0.51 was made for FW 2.71 but should work with other firmwares through eloader. It was tested and confirmed working on 1.5.

\"outrun\"
All right, its his first LUA game but the title rocks mind you! Yoyomancy\’s first LUA homebrew game for the PSP is released at v0.5. The graphics arn\’t as how you would put it, but the gameplay sure seems good. He says that in his next version (1.0) there will be analog control, more enemy blocks, better GFX, and settings for your desires. Way to go Yoyomancy!

\"PiMPStreamer

Bringing another update to PiMPStreamer is none othere than our favorite pimp.

DickyDick1969. Seriously though, there is alot to look forward to in this small update.

Official Changelog:

  • PiMPStreamer now supports the FLV format

  • Added RSS support
  • Also added special support for YouTube.com

Just remove your old PiMPStreamer.INI prior to installing the update.

Note-When you add the Youtube RSS link to PiMPStreamer, it will take a little bit to download and parse the location and FLV file.

And for the record, nothing has changed on the PSP side of this app, only the PC server has been updated.
