\"NesterJ

Ruka\’s near perfect NES emulator just got better! He had mentioned about 3 months ago that he was working on NesterJ 1.20 and intended to add Ad-hoc Wifi support for 1.0/1.5 PSP\’s (kernel access). It may be in beta, but he\’s followed through with a few more additions to his creation:

(Thanks to Jeff C. for the translation of the changelog)

  • Drawing speed up by 20% when using GPU
  • Sound processing in single play mode has been modified
  • Network communication is still in-development and needs adjustment
  • If you don\’t want to use frameskip during Network Play, set CPU to 333mhz

He also provided instructions on how to set up a Wifi game:

"How to start WiFi Network Play:

1. Turn on your WiFi switch and set your PSP to AdHoc Mode (choose the same channel as your co-player)
2. Start NesterJ and choose your ROM
3. Select "Wifi Network Play(Adhoc)"
4. Wait until you get the message "sceNetInit() done" – this means the PSP is in Network Standby
5. Repeat steps 1 – 4 for the second player
6. Player 2: Press Circle to send a connection request
7. Player 1: After getting the request from Player 2, press the Circle button

Obviously, identical ROMs are needed and if the emulator settings on all the PSP\’s are not the same, the synchronization might fail."

Many thanks to coolguy5678 for giving us yet another TIFF game, but it was a released a while ago, so heres his new update:

  • Extra maps added
  • Superpower powerup
  • Stopped the key repeat on the menu

"It plays like Bomberman and can actually be played by two players. One person uses the D-pad to move around and hit the L shoulder to drop bombs while the other uses the X, [], /, O buttons to move and the R shoulder to plant the bombs. For single player, it\’s the D-pad to move while hitting X or O to drop."

Tactical penguin is at it again! His new LUA game enhances on how you debate for a crosshair to chase a penguin? I say points for originality! Pretty obvious, you have a disoriented amount o time depicked on the clock for you\’re cross hair to get the penguin. Tactical Penguin sais he is working on a two player mode for the Face Buttons to be the Cross-Hair and the D-Pad buttons for the Penguin.
Heres some upcoming arrival for features he has picked for future versions:
  • Run away mode
  • New ending
  • New menu system
  • Timing/scoring system

Bad news! New psp\’s are coming with 2.81 firmware!
If you are new to the psp scene then you Will not know what psp to buy.
Well, There\’s a way to tell if its a 2.81.If you look at the side of the box it will have a letter L.
If your can do not purchase these!! These are "Not homebrew Compatible"

If you need a new psp Don\’t one with a letter L on the box, it will have a non hombrew compatible firmware.
\"

If you have purchased one of these it\’s not too bad. Many people are working to get homebrew on a 2.81 psp. So if you have a 2.81 psp, Dont freak out!

Hey world! Guess whos back! Dark Alex, and hes just stunning us with all his new contraptions (for the PSP ofcourse :D ). Anyways, hes back today with a new decrypter, which is able for users to play the new Ridge Racer 2 Demo in 2.71 Emulation(devhook)! Sorry folks, its not you\’re day for the SE-A though.

  • With some pbp utility, such as pbp unpacker, extract the files from the Ridge Racer 2 demo pbp.
  • Put the extracted file DATA.PSP in the root of memory stick.
  • Place the 1.5 EBOOT in the game folder.
  • Run the decrypter test.
  • The decrypter test will output a file called "DATA_OUT.PSP" in the root of memory stick. Using this file as the DATA.PSP, rebuild the pbp.
  • Change the text in the SFO "2.81" with some hexadecimal editor to something <= 2.71.
"Dark_Alex warns that unfortunately, this doesn\’t run on other demos such as World Tour Soccer and Ape Escape Racer demo for 2.81 (the latter tested by jas0nuk). But we\’re pretty sure this bright guys will work something out. In the meantime, here\’s the decrypter. Just click on the link below to download it. As a bonus, Viper_Bravo also threw in a Hex Editor as a treat, so it\’s definitely something to get."

For those of you who have played previous Conker games, you will know this fuzzy wuzzy creature as a mean, lean, badass furry machine rather than mistaken for the adorable variety.
pspman16 has recreated that into his LUA visualization which has a lot of elements that the other Conker games did. His Lua coding has shown what a little animal can really do! Although its sad to see his final version, its always a pleasure to see improovement in structure these days! Well done pspman16!

Wanna get to know you\’re favourite PSP site of all time a bit better? No worries, heres just a bit of fixes that Nik was able to re-code after his 6-7 month delay from the site:
  • –The IRC Chat–
First off, IRC is just a way of saying: A Type Of Chat Program which gets added on to you\’re site from a program called mirc onto you\’re host. Before it was a bit laggy, a lot of times people hard trouble getting into it, and later on they couldn\’t get into it at all. Well its back folks, and you can get right to chatting on it with you\’re favourite members on pspbrew by just following this link:
\"ircchat\"
  • –The Portals–
The portals on PSPBrew would be..oh lets just say a little mini-site that you can make by going on the menu and choosing: Portals. You can make little menus on the side or just input you\’re own HTML coding onto one and make you\’re own menu, how ever you like! YOu ca make all sorts of things on it, but hey, what if you\’re not good at HTML, or heck, what if you have never even coded in HTML!!!! Hah, no worries, thanks to Nik, you can simply just use the text editor to help you, and it codes it itself! How cool is that?
\"
But theres more, you can have it named, and it even gets put ona list of the top 5 which when members vote, you may be one of the top 5 on the portals list! (these probably might not come back anyhow) but don\’t worry, pspbrew is still a fun place to come to!
  • –The Downloads–
\"downloads\"
All right!! The downloads are back! And yes, our downloads link off from any top sites for downloads so we are completaly and freely updated! The site just keeps

getting better and better don\’t it? But Im afraid this is the last bit of our fixes..for now. Some of the ones that havn\’t been fixed would be our Wiki, our Gallery

  • –PSPBrew Forums and Site–
Just join our forums: http://www.pspbrew.com/forum/
This PSP site is all you got, so join now and chat freely amongst your selves!
Enjoy!

Thats right chumps and chumpettes, the 3.00 eboot will soon (hopefully not) be on you\’re desktop from one month away of the set release date for the Wii (October 19th) is when the 3.00 update will finally come out!

But you might of thought that it would be released around the time of the PS3 (because there is now a "Remote Play" option under the network connections tab, for wireless play between the PSP and PS3) but you guessed wrong, Im sorry but it looks like you will just have to wait a bit longer \"Yell\" Hey, who cares anyways, the 3.00 update is coming out, so why worry??

\"threepointohoh\"

Lots of people (like homebrewers for instance) are just urging you, and I mean URGING you not to even think about updating. For me, I would update IF I had two psp\’s (which I do haha), but if you do not have a second PSP, while one is 1.5, then get another PSP, and update that because let me assure you that the 3.00+ firmwares will have a lot of features you havn\’t even imagined of having! My favourite is the PS1 Emulator, but if they can put that on, then who knows what else to expect they might amazingly put on!

*Note.. This info is not necessarily true and only info about 3.0 and its release date may be released on the 19th, but chances are that it won\’t happen.
