PSP Downgrader Video – HIGH RESOLUTION

PSP FirmwareDowngrader Video

UPDATED 9/07/05
WAB in conjunction with PSP-Dev have released a high resolution video of their downgrader in action. It looks as though it has been made to handle 2.0 in addition to any of the 1.5x PSPs out there! This could account for the delayed release, but who really knows. Is it fake or real? Thats for you to decide.

Download the high resolution video here.

FlashPack v1.0 – Fullscreen Edition
FlashPack by PSPBrew.com
Overview
Say hello to the FlashPack, a collection of the funniest flash videos that I found on the net and decided to share with the PSP community. The pack works with every firmware version, and installation is simple! My hopes were to make something cool that everyone could use no matter if your a noober or a 2.0er, so I hope this hits the spot. Read the below posts for more in depth coverage and to submit movies.
For more information on the FlashPack and the FlashPack Generator click here.

Yoshiro from WAB has said that he has succesfully downgraded 1.5x to 1.50.  He said it will be released Sept 1.

So if you have 1.51 or 1.52 dont upgrade to 2.0 just yet! You might be able to downgrade!

PSPBrew.com was mentioned as the place to go to easily setup emulators :)   I picked up a copy of the magazine and will upload a scan of the page later. Until then you can read the online version on the Wired website.

WAB Version Changer v.2

WAB Logo

Yoshihiro from WAB has released PSP Version Changer .2. Described by their website as:
"…First Firmware Trick for Games that need Firmware 1.52 to run on your PSP and Cant Run UPDATER 1.52 or 2.0. The System thinks it’s a PSP v1.52 ,v1.0 ,v2.0 even if its a v1.5 or 1.0."

Installation and Useage Guide

"Unrar the file and put the Folders into :
X:/PSP/GAMES/
Then follow the instructions on the screen

START: Quit without change
Square: Trick to Firm v1.0
Circle: Back to Firm v1.5
Cross: Trick to Firm v1.52
Triangle: Trick to Firmware v2.0

When is done you can go to System Settings =>
System Information and Check Your System Version :=)

Then launch the game!
Enjoy!!"

NOTE: THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO RUN HOMEBREW ON A v1.51+! IT ONLY WORKS ON 1.0 AND 1.5 SO DONT GO UPDATING UR VERSION THINKING YOU CAN MAKE IT BE LIKE A 1.5!

Posted in PSP | No Comments »

First and most importantly:

2.0 Does NOT support ANY HOMEBREW!

now that we have that out of the way.  If you have 1.50 I DO NOT recommend an upgrade, if you have 1.51, 1.52 I would upgrade because most people with 1.51 and 1.52 will be and thus there will be a good force of people trying to put homebrew on 2.0 .  But think this all out on your own :)

PSP Version 2.0 Firmware
Firmware 2.0

Yep, SCEA announced their v2.0 Firmware for the second time. Here’s what was said:

"The PSP Firmware 2.0 Upgrade for the North American market will be available during the week of August 22nd. Designed to compliment the comprehensive entertainment experience of games, movies, music, photos and wireless connectivity provided by the revolutionary portable device, the firmware 2.0 upgrade will allow users to take advantage of the unit’s built-in Wi-Fi capability and wirelessly search the Internet from Internet Access Points or hot spots. The firmware 2.0 upgrade
will be available for download directly to a PSP using a Wi-Fi connection or downloaded to a PC
from http://us.playstation.com/psp and transferred to a PSP through a USB cable."

Two notes, one very important, the other an important release note:

VERY IMPORTANT: PSPbrew.com HIGHLY discourages any 1.5 users to upgrade. I promise you will regret it. If you have 1.5+ however we recommend an upgrade, as it is likely 2.0 will be hacked first. You will also be able do many features that homebrew on the 1.5 allows you to do without any hacks.

RELEASE NOTE: As a note to all users, from 1.0 to 2.0, PSPBrew.com will be releasing another great exclusive. Keep checking back, and it will be announced very soon. It’s still in the making so I don’t want to make an release notice and date now, as I’m not sure the exactcly when it will come.

SmashPack v2.0 + The SmashPack Generator

SmashPack

Details on the SmashPack Generator
In less than 8 hours we will be releasing our greatest feature yet, the SmashPack Generator. As a compliment to the SmashPack v2.0 by Terdinglage, the SmashPack Generator will allow each person to completely customize their SmashGPSP experience. It give you the ability to choose from a list of all the currently available levels and characters and select the ones that you want in your version of SmashGpsp, not the ones the Dev’s want. What the Genrator then does is make an auto-extracting zip containing all of your choices. Installation is simple! Just run the .exe and extract to the PSP’s root.

SmashPack v2.0 by Terdinglage
This new version of SmashPack has brought about a ton of changes. It now includes 24 characters, but make SURE to check out my tutorial, as it has important information on how to pick the ones beyond the first 12, if you don’t follow them your game WILL crash (no damage to your PSP). I also added two more levels, and new graphics and sounds for the PSP Game menu. Special thanks goes to PSPortable for making the images. I hope you enjoy the new version, and please check out the threads below.
