Apparently, whenever you purchase the new PSPgo at Best Buy, you’ll get a Voucher for a downloadable version for Rock Band Unplugged. Sony hasn’t confirmed this as being a universal extra for the PSPgo and retailers are leaving no clue on their websites for this except Best Buy. It could be an exclusive but it may be one of Sony’s launch plans. If you guys bought this game already and are planning on buying the PSPgo, you might want to trade in your version to Gamestop or someplace afterwards.

When was the last time any of you bought anything online on your PSP? When was the last time you purchased levels for LittleBigPlanet for the PS3? I’m pretty the answer to both of those are going to be a ‘Never.’ Silicornera had a nice little post about how a demo version of LittleBigPlanet for the PSP was stuck at a menu showing a “Purchased Levels” option. Pretty interesting considering that there’s only been a few releases of purchasable levels for the PS3. I wonder if they’re waiting to release more when the PSP version comes out. If so, will the same levels be available for both consoles?

Dark Shark has released the newest version of his brawler game called Battle Fantasy to 1.0. It’s first full numbered version. Believe me, this version kicks butt! This game is very well polished multi-universe fighter and includes some nice features. The best of which is AD HOC! Go ahead and play as Sonic, or Goku, or Princess Peach, or Freeza, or Naruto, or any of the other billion characters.
Here’s the changelog:

A hacker by the name of kgsws has released the second version of his hack for Medal of Honor Hereos that works on Firmware 5.51. This is great news because we could potentially gain Flash access through this so we don’t have to use the ChickenHEN everytime we restart our PSP’s.

German hacker named Miche2245 has been able to use a vulnerability in the Japanese version of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and the English version of Need for Speed: Underground to access ChickHEN on firmware 5.50. Right now, the only download you can get is for the Japanese version of Monster Hunter Freedom 2… Unless you live in Japan, you won’t be able to test this out. |

Well, the first obviously is the PC so there’s no reason to make a post about it, but what is interesting is that Japan’s RealWorld RealResearch polled the Sony PSP as being the second biggest platform to run Skype off of in Japan. Wow! That beats the iPhone, landlines, and other platforms like the Sony Mylo. [ Source ] |

Appearantly RealView Innovations has announced that they will be releasing the V-Screen for the PSP which will make the objects seem to ‘pop out of the screen.’ I’ve seen technology like this used on computer cameras to make your pictures look 3D but they turn out aweful. It works by checking how dark or light parts of the picture is and then gives the image depth using that information. No word yet on how the V-Screen will work but it may use that or RVI software to space out objects further away than usual. The creators claim that no other hardware will be needed. No word yet on price or which PSP systems it will be compatable with. The V-Screen will be released this holiday season (2009) so we’ll probably be hearing more about it in the coming months.

Recently, and not so recently, there has been some loose talk about a new gamefor the PSP called, Undead Knights. From what has been said around the net, the game has a very simple form of gameplay. You turn knights into zombies, they attack other knights, and you get one massive undead military force that is seemingly unstoppable. Depending on what type of enemy you convert to your forces, they retain the abilities from when they were your enemy. Even though its said that there isn’t much of a tactical point to the zombies, it doesn’t seem necessary considering, them being zombies and having a one track mind.
Even though the game was talked about late last year, it seems revolutionary for a PSP title, and IGN.com has an exclusive interview with the producer of the game, Kohei Shibata. Click the source below to delve deeper into Undead Knights.

Horror is difficult to get across on a portable. After all, if things get too unnerving, you simply toss the system aside and breathe easy. That said, Playlogic is the latest to try its hand at fright on the go, announcing plans to again port Obscure: The Aftermath to yet another platform the PSP. Set to ship in North America this September, the sequel to 2005’s Obscure looks to offer much of the same B-movie shock value as it has on other platforms, just on a smaller screen. Still, our previous time with the teen horror romp was more annoying than scary, and we doubt being able to play it while waiting for the bus will be enough to make our hair stand on end.
