TimeBabyv4

Well it seems that Art has released another version of his wonderful app "Time Baby". Just incase you don't know what this app does, it's an enlarged clock/alarm clock. Yea awesome app right? Well according to the developer, you are able to make your psp "tell" you the time just by the press of a single button. But the biggest jump to v4 is that the user is able to set the alarm, and the alarm will actualyl go off while the psp is suspended or in standby mode. So now the user no longer needs to worry about horrible battery consumption. So here are the changes:
  • Implemented adrahil's Alarm Library to handle alarm where the PSP is either suspended, or in standby.
  • Implemented a moon phase calculator with graphic moon display accurate to one segment.
  • Removed Mikmod Sound Library, and implemented 6AM Sample Player to achieve CD quality sound.
  • Implemented a time announcement mode where the time is announced every minute.
  • Speech routine is no longer timer based. Samples are played end to end for fluid sounding speech.
  • Underclocked PSP unit to 135/111/1 for battery conservation while used with the power on.
  • Removed lap counter (bean counter) feature that was present from version 2.
  • Images are now present in the executable, and are loaded from memory at program startup.
  • Various other graphics fixes and improvements including calender display.
Well since I know how much you all love alarm clock's I will give you the download links too ;) .

iPSPv110Recently hombrew developer ChrisTek released a new version of his portal "iPSP". iPSP is a great substitute to use instead of the very costly iPhone. I know what your thinking, it's just another stupid portal. Actually, this is one of the best portal's I have seen for sure. This portal is a "copy" of the new and popular iPhone's interface. Some even say this portal is just as good as pspWxp, or even better. With it's nice sleek interface, along with very useful tools, I am sure this portal will become very popular soon. Ok, enough of me talking, here is a list of some important tools included in the very realistic portal:

-Digg: Easy way to arrive at the popular site digg.com

-Lock: Eye candy sweetness. This app enables the user to start a, often rather sexy, screensaver to show off the brilliant psp screen.

-Browser: An obvious internet browser dubbed "Expedition". Includes tabs and bookmarks.

-Messengers: Your gateway to messengers provided by eBuddy.

-Photos: An app that displays up to 10 photo's in 5 second intervals, similar to a slideshow.

-Weather: Weather forcast for our meteorologist members.

-Games: Easy way to access and play some flash games included with iPSP.

-Mail: Gateway to most email providers such as aol, msn, and yahoo.

-Vipr Online: Your way to access Vipr Online Media Service, which is currently still in development.

And I believe the rest are self-explanitory. Also included in v1.10 is an iPod service which allows the user to play music via PSPTunes, which is also included in the installation package, and a rather enjoyed update to the out-of-memory issue that v1.0 was faced with. Last but not least, read the readme included before you asks lots of questions. Note: This app is compatible with any official/custom firmware that has the web browser available to it, but in order to use the games, you need Official firmware/Custom firmware 2.71 or higher.

After a quite succesful three seasons and two motion pictures, MTV's Jackass have decided to entertain us on our gaming consoles. With this title set to release September 25 for the PSP and PS2, you can expect that the usual suspects; Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and Wee Man, will be up to their old bag of nonsense and eager to take any painful stunts you can throw at them.

It is said to feature 35 stunts which will make up 7 virtual episodes so if you do the math thats 5 stunts per episode. A few of the many stunts will be San Fran Trash Can, where you'll be steering your favourite jackass character through traffic, around pedestrians and other obstacles as you go flying down the hills of San Francisco in a trash can. Suburban Catapult, where you'll be launching these crazy guys from a human slingshot into a nearby neighbourhood or construction site. If that's not enough for one day, you can try Golf Rally, where you'll be using a golf cart as your weapon of choice to terrorize the golf course and other scenery.

Sounds like fun to me. Heck, who doesn't love driving wrecklessly, demolishing golf courses, terrorizing neighbourhoods, and launching a buddy through the air. It's the dream of a teenager and even the child in some of us adults. To sum it up, it's a typical game to complete the Jackass series. Take a look at the full preview and trailor by clicking on the link…

choc_run
A french homebrew developer LeJournal has come to the homebrew scene with his first public release of his game: Chocobo Run. The game obviously features the known Chocobo from the Final Fantasy series to the Chocobo Racing and Chocobo Dungeon series. The main point of the game is to finish the course by pressing the buttons that appear up top. If you do not corrospond the buttons you press with the top (if you pressed the wrong button) then little Chocobo here will move back one step.
LeJournal has also made a catch to this game:
- Defeat the game in the shortest amount of time
- Do the least mistakes (3 mistakes at the max)
Although time isnt a factor for this build LeJournal sais it will surely be in his next version.

Super Smash Bros Brawl Latest

Bowser Returns!!

You know him, he has been kidnapping the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom throughout his whole life.
The big bad meanie, the king of all koopa's is back and better than ever!! Why better you ask? Well sure he
was a tough guy from the previous game in Melee, everyone character you face was a giant. Take Donkey Kong
for example.

But this is just no giant we're talking here. We're talking brutal, powerful and something that would
blow you away if you were the one in the stadium. Were talking Giga Bowser. Thats right, the powerful version
of Bowser is making a comeback to the Super Smash Bros series and will be playable.

Whenever your playing as regular Bowser, you will need to snatch up a Smash Ball to go into "Final Smash" mode. This will give you the ability to transform normal Bowser into Giga. Keep in mind though that you
will need to be quick when defeating an opponent, as bowser will not be in his bad form for long.

 Daedalus

Remember when supposedly strmnrmn said that his next version of Daedalus would most likely include the user downloading a copy of the N64 bios? Well it seems he has recently made a new post in his blog stating the information PSPUpdates was given is false. This is what he mentioned in his blog:

"I never emailed pspupdates.qj.net, so it looks like someone has been deliberately trying to mislead them… The information doesn't seem to be particularly malicious, but I didn't write it."

So there you go. R13 shouldn't need a N64 bios, unlike the fake that posted that piece of news. From now on strmnrmn also stated that "…Anything I have to say about Daedalus, I'll talk about here, on this blog." I believe this should be a good relief to some users of Daedalus.

Homebrew developer fard0che has just made his first contribution to the PSP brew scene with the release of PSPLive v1.01. This Lua coded program is sort of a virtual meeting place for homebrew gamers to meet up and play together. As it currently stands, the maximum capacity for this lobby is set at 20 but fard0che states that theoretically, the number can be unlimited. As of yet this program is not coded into any games but fard0che states if you are interested in coding this program into your games that you should contact him.

Can't wait to see what fard0che's next release has in store for us as this program seems promising for the future of mutiplayer homebrew.
