2.01 iPhone

Apple has just released iPhone firmware 2.0.1 which seems to address many of the problems users faced with the new 2.0 firmware. Here is what users have been saying who have updated to 2.01:

  • Backup process for the iPhone is much faster.
  • SMS typing faster.
  • Some users are reporting that the iPhone seems a lot snappier after the update.
  • iPhone Dev Team's Pwnage Tool does not work with iPhone firmware 2.01 so as recommended earlier if you have jailbroken or unlocked your iPhone then do NOT update.
  • Contacts app loads faster.
  • Safari seems to be significantly more responsive after the upd
  •

    Again, it is reported that Pwnage Tool does NOT work with the new firmware. If you have your iPhone unlocked or jailbroken DO NOT update as it will remove them.

    Please leave feedback if you do update and let us know what your experience is.

    Well well, the DS scene it still alive and kicking with the latest release of a brand new slot one flashcart.  Team Neoflash is to thank for yet another Letter + Number named cart.  As if we didn't already have enough, M3, R4, G6, N5, and others.  But really folks this cart is right up there in terms of features.  Behind its countless grammatical flaws, is a nice and solid list of specs:

    SPEC:
    * 1:1 original NDS cart size
    * Support ALL version of NDS & Lite
    * Simple PLUG and PLAY
    * Drag and Drop, not need any extra patch
    * NDS brightness adjustable
    * Support Auto Sleep Mode
    * Build in MagicKey pass2 function
    * Build in 4K/64K/256K/512K/2M/4M REAL EEPROM Save
    * Build in upgradeable BIOS flash
    * Perfect DLDI low-level support, not need DLDI patch in advance, support DS-Linux directly
    * Support homebrew, like MoonShell 1.71
    * Support AR cheat code
    * Support NDS/NDSL Rumble Pack function
    * Build in 64Gb to 256Gb high speed memory
    * Build in game accessing LED display function
    * Build in USB 2.0 interface, can link to PC USB port directly
    * Very fast read/write speed, VISTA USB "ReadyBoost" function ready

    Believe it or not, that's a direct quote form team Neoflash, lets be glad they don't make dictionaries.  Never mind that though.  What's really magnificent and unique about this cart is that it comes with 64 GIGABYTES OF BUILT-IN MEMORY… NOT!!!!  Similar to the AceKard, this little fella has a deceiving 64 Gbit built in memory, which means it only has 8GB built-in.  That's still quite an impressive amount, the most even to be on any major flashcart.  And as you can see, the USB port is on the side, that's never been done before.

    As for sales, there shouldn't be much expectancy here… Pretty much the only attractive feature here for brewers would be the on-board memory, but that's not going to carry a flash cart to great sales all by itself.  But keep your eyes peeled for updates.

    Also, you can head over to the Neoflash website over here —> Cool

    Well, well, well, Sony has release another update for their firmware. Firmware 2.42, and if you have not notice yet but when Sony has released a firmware that has .02 then you should know its just to fix the bugs, in the PS3.

    OJ said: Users have reported the following changes for PS3 firmware 2.42:

    • Life with PlayStation seems to have been released. You can access it by going into folding@home where you’ll see a globe you can interact with. Zeroing in on a specific area will yield news from that locale. A
    • Bluetooth mic fix has been added.

    Well, they was wrong. Sony will not be releasing Life with Playstation until August 2008, and the bluetooth mic fix? I thought they already did that. From the official Sony website, this is what the director PSN operations, Eric Lempel said:

    Just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.42) is now available for download. This update improves the playback quality of some PlayStation 3 and PlayStation format software.

    So what I see it’s just a firmware that fixes the bugs to keep the PS3 to run better. To download get it here and make a folder called “PS3″ and add a folder called “UPDATE”, then put the file in there or just do a network update.

    NetShareOne of the greatest features missing from the iPhone has been the ability to tether it to a laptop. NullRiver is making this feature possible by releasing their NetShare software. Here is the description from the AppStore:

    "Share your iPhone's EDGE or 3G Internet connection with your computer using NetShare. NetShare provides a SOCKS5 proxy for your computer to connect to."

    So basically what this does is turn your iPhone into a wireless modem for your laptop to connect to the internet when there is not a connection around. There are still some bugs to work out in the software but it is looking very promising. It is currently being sold for $9.99 on the AppStore. If anyone tries it out, please post your feedback and let us know what you think.

    Multi-Die

    Sometimes we all need to satisfy our inner nerd.
    Well, maybe not all of us… but definitly some.
    For that reason, homebrew developer, crait, has
    performed a homebrew-developing trifecta with
    his release of Multi-Die v. 1. It's essentially a
    random number generator for the users amount
    of die faces that he/ she chooses. You can simulate
    rolling a coin with this program as well by simply
    adding only 2 numbers, one for each coin face.

    ChildBeGoneHave you ever stolen candy from a baby? Have you ever thought about it? Well homebrew developer, crait , allows you to come close to that experience with his very first release of ChildBeGone. With this program you can "keep other people* from seeing your private files, updating your PSP, deleting your files, or generally playing with your PSP while you are not watching".

    While it's technically not stealing candy from a baby, it's at least stealing the opportunity for someone to enjoy your PSP without your permission! You may even make someone end up like the poor little boy in this article. That's gotta get your evil juices flowing!

    What's particularly special about this program is that you can display your own personal message to someone who is trying to use your PSP. Have a younger sibling and want to tell them off? You get the picture.

    Smarcyclem
    Here's another release of Smarcyclem from forum member, crait . Smarcyclem is an emulator for the "Smart Cycle Physical Learning Arcade System". It's an educational video gaming system and is currently the only emulator of its kind for this particular platform.

    There are few problems known at this time. Most of the time the emulator runs full speed without problems, but one game in particular, "Letter Creek", tends to have audio issues.

    For more information regarding this emulator as well as access to download links, click below!
