Looks like rumors have resurfaced about Microsoft liscensing out the actual Xbox 360 console to third party companies.  If this is the case, it could make for a lot of interesting possibilities…

The last time we saw the rumor of Microsoft licensing Xbox 360 technologies to other companies was a few years ago, but EGM's got a fresh update to it. Their rumor column says that Microsoft might be licensing third-party manufacturers to build Xbox 360 hardware that can play off-the-shelf Xbox 360 discs. That's right.

What would be the point to this? Kotaku points out that previous game systems like a Panasonic Q, which was the GameCube + DVD player, served to help bring in software money, but lower development costs for Nintendo because they don't have to spend effort making new hardware. In Microsoft's case, imagine what would happen if a company built an Xbox 360 with a Blu-ray drive. Eh?

We've always wanted to have a real life lightsaber battle.  Everyone has… really.  So now the wait is almost over the game "Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels" is coming to the Wii, and as its name suggests, you'll finally get to use you're Wiimote as a lightsaber.  There will be a similar game coming out for the nintendo DS.  Unfortunately both of these games will be based off of the new cartoon version of Star wars coming soon to theaters.  This means that we won't see spectacular effects and life like heads falling off, but we will see a spiffy cartoon attepmt at it.  More info is on its way and a trailer is set to air sometime soon, so be ready!

The newest update to the 3.95 GEN CFW has been realeased.  There's a notable list of changes:

~Fixed issue which crashed the PSP if you had vshmenu mode 'None'.

~Fixed SNES emu issues

~Fixed some unremarkarble homebrew issues with the Slim.

~Issues with running the latest version of the SNES emulator, PSPTube and many other homebrew using ME are fixed

Download—>  Cool

The devs released installation instructions, to make things run smoother but I made a less confusing one… not really, I just kinda paraphrased:

1. Make sure your PSP is already plugged in and in USB mode

2. Click "download"

3. Choose the "open" option when the box pops up

4. Choose the option "extract all files" when it opens up

5. Go to the PSP itself and run the update

6. SMILE

Twilight Hack Update Works on Version 3.3!

For those of you who have been unfortunate and updated, breaking the Twilight Hack, new hope is here. Team Twiizers has come back and released a new version of that hack, working on old and new versions of the Wii system menu. Be aware that updating to version 3.3 will still disable Trucha signed discs! Here's an excerpt from the readme:

This new version of the Twilight Hack is compatible with version 3.3 of the Wii System Menu, using the workarounds explained in previous posts. Thanks to everyone on IRC who contributed to the search for the bugs, and to tmbinc and tehpola for finding the two bugs that make this possible.

Changelog for this release:

* The Twilight Hack is now compatible with version 3.3 of the Wii System Menu.
* Improvements in video configuration. The entire console should now be visible in all video modes, and scrolling has been improved.
* For the USA version, the two variants of the hack have been packed into one save file. Just select the save slot that corresponds to your version of Twilight Pricess when you start the game.
* New savegame icons by drmr. The new icons now show which region that version of the hack is for.
* This version now tries to load boot.dol, and falls back to boot.elf if boot.dol is not found.
* ???????
* Many, many bug fixes.

In the newest issue of the United Kingdom gaming mag “GamesTM”, a dude called videogamer247 shed some light on the upcoming Call of Duty game.  It is now officially known as Call of Duty: World at War.  For this installment, the game will take you back to World War II.

For the first time ever, the game will include a co-op campaign and vehicles and squad-based elements in multiplayer mode.

It is also confirmed that COD5 will be making it way to the Wii as well as the PS3, XBOX 360, and PC.

It is said that it will be run under the same COD 4 engine, but under different teams.  This is mainly due to the fact that the Wii copy will include compatibility to the Wii zapper and other exclusive peripherals.

To give you guys a gist of the intensity of the game, here is a quote from videogamer247:

“The opening scene of the first level we are shown is a Japanese commander stubbing a cigarette out in the eye of a         prisoner before slitting his throat – the blood splatters and dribbles down the side of the tent you are being held in.   He turns towards you to deal out the same treatment but help arrives just in time. Cue a daring level-long escape.”

As of now, however, there has been no release date announced.

The same team that brought us the 3.95 GEN has decrypted 4.00 OFW.  They took a peak at the resource directory in 4.00’s flash0 and found some PRX changes.  The team found that these changed PRXs are pops, popsman, npdrm, np9660, mlnbridge, sysmem, umdcache, sysconf, and video.  They also saw that the NIDS have not changed.

They conclude that it should be no problem to develop homebrew on the new firmware so we will be keeping our eyes peeled for 4.00 ??? CFW.

Sony has released their newest firmware addition.  The changes aren’t major but are fine nonetheless:

~The “internet search” option has been added under the network menu.

~The option of changing the viewing speed of videos has been added.

Download: HERE

NOTE: If you update to this Sony firmware, you will not be able to run any homebrew games or downgrade without Pandora.

Wii Menu version 3.3 disables the Twilight Hack by removing hacked saves. If you have not installed the Homebrew Channel, do not update, as a Wii downgrader is not likely.

Well sorry we were gone. Please be patient with the staff as we go through new updates.  The Brew should be back up for a few weeks unless we come across more needed fixes. At least we can add more news for you now. Wink
