All of the rumors about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves are true! It was just announced that it will have a competitive and cooperative multiplayer mode. Evan Wells (Co-President of Naughty Dog) said that they have kept this a secret for more than over a year and a half. Evan also said that the Naught Dog crew has been expanding rapidly and they now have a few more dogs.
“If you’ve been looking closely at our interviews, our team here at Naughty Dog has been growing rapidly and we now have quite a few more Dogs on staff than when work finished on UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune. It shouldn’t be a surprise that we had to grow our studio to tackle the task of creating fully-realized multiplayer and co-op modes that would live up to our own high standards and do the UNCHARTED universe justice. I’m incredibly proud at the excellent work our team has done so far and it shows in the solid game play and incredible polish of the little slice we showed press last week. “[1] The multiplayer beta will begin June 3rd. The way you will gain access to it is through the infamous vouchers, which go on sale May 26th.
Evan also hinted on more things coming to the single player campaign, and to stay tuned.
“We’ll be back soon to talk more about our single player campaign – don’t think for a second we’ve forgotten about that! The rest of our team at Naughty Dog has been hard at work pushing our engine to its limits while creating a campaign that is more expansive and more ambitious than UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune. They’ve even learned a few tricks from our multiplayer and co-op development – truly a win-win situation as all aspects of UNCHARTED 2 are benefiting from the work we’re putting into both single player and multiplayer modes.”[2]

The first trailer of the new Killzone 2 DLC pack.
A few weeks ago Hermen Hulst, Managing Director of Guerrilla Games announced on GameTrailers TV that Killzone 2 would be getting a DLC pack. The pack will be entitled Steel and Titanium and would be releashed April 30. The first map in the pack is [1]Wasteland Bullet, and the action will take place on the bullet train that and transports goods and troops between Pyrrhus and the Wasteland. The game is a frenzied firefight to wrestle control of the train from the enemy and into the hands of your faction. With the train moving at full speed, players will need to remain aware of the immediate environment as well as enemies – hitting an overhead obstacle at this speed will mean instant death. The second map, Vekta Cruiser, will find ISA troops boarding a vast ship with the goal to repel a force of assaulting Helghast troops while also protecting the cruiser itself from heavy Helghan fire. The action takes place entirely indoors in a frantic and claustrophobic battle where attackers lurk around every corner.[1] These 2 new maps will contain new gameplay elements and strategic twists. Furthermore the price of the DLC pack was revealed on the offical PlayStation Blog that it would cost $5.99.

IF YOU USE HOMEBREW ON YOUR Wii, DO NOT UPDATE
IF YOU USE HOMEBREW ON YOUR Wii, DO NOT UPDATE Nintendo has released system menu 4.0 which is now available to install through the Wii’s system update. The new update adds the capability to run Wiiware games off of an SD card without installing on your Wii as well as SDHC support up to 32 GB.
On the homebrew side Nintendo has officially squashed the Twilight Hack bug. If you already have the Homebrew Channel installed it is possible to run it from an SD card but the channel cannot be installed back on the Wii. DVDx apparently still works as well, however if you do not have DVDx or the Homebrew Channel installed before hand you will not be able to install after updating. It is strongly recommended that if you use homebrew and would like to continue that you do not update. |

A couple days ago this homebrew came out, which is a port from the PC version that was originally created by Axel Meierhöfer. This port is a really good representation of the original game and is a welcome addition to the homebrew library available for the PSP.
The idea is that you are the pilot of a space ship very far out in space where “Crazy Gravity” is in effect. The purpose of the game is to transport valuable cargo amidst a variety of obstacles in your way. Things like magnets and cannons are definitely things to be careful of as you’re trying to get the cargo to your home base.
The download links below are for the initial release and the release from just a little while ago which also includes a level editor!

Here’s something that I was pleasantly surprised to see and read about. While I was hopping around some usual websites for gaming-related news, I visited SEGA’s USA website. I’ve known about SEGA working closely with Nintendo in the past few years, so I decided to check out what SEGA had in store for the Wii. And while one of their projects isn’t “in stores”, so-to-speak, coming this summer, the Wii looks to be receiving a very well-rounded and polished first-person shooter (FPS) to its game lineup.
The game is called, The Conduit. The description of the game’s basic plotline is detailed on the SEGA website, but basically, the idea is that you are placed in a not-too-distant future where Washington D.C. has been subjected to “weird events” that have put the surrounding country in an alerted, chaotic state. The protagonist in this storyline appears to be, “Mr. Ford”, a Secret Service agent that is forced to assume the role of Mr. Nice-Guy.
Futuristic weapons? Check. Unique weapon and aiming system that only the Wii offers? Check. A bunch of crazy alien-like creatures in a freaky environment just waiting to destroy mankind? Apparently… check.
There are two short gameplay trailers available on the SEGA website that showcase the feel of the game. I must say, I’m fairly impressed with what I’ve seen thus far from this title. It seems like a very well-rounded game with impressive graphics, considering it’s a Wii title, after all. I’ll be looking forward to what this game will offer the Wii. I think it’s about time that the Wii received a worthy FPS game.

Ok, so Uncle DPM doesn’t follow the DS that much. That’s true. I’m a PSP man, what do you expect? But see, I’m also a Grand Theft Auto man, so this caught my eye.
Again, since I don’t have a DS, I haven’t played this game, but it looks pretty good as far as DS games are considering. It definitely has an old-school GTA feel to the game from the camera perspective and there’s a neat new way to steal cars. You can actually unscrew the dashboard and put the wires together to hotwire the vehicles. I’ve included a neat video trailer in the link below so you can see exactly what I mean. It looks like a promising title and I wouldn’t mind getting my dirty hands on a dirty DS to test drive it. The release date was the 17th, so I expect to see more soon.

Managing homebrew just got more classy. Teknecal has released his homebrew browser and bumped it up to 0.2.5c. Nothing huge has changed in this version but two pretty important bugs were ironed out. Those two bugs being:
Again, it’s not a giant update, but if you’re noticing the issues above and want a more stable version for your homebrew browser, this should do fine for you. Download link is below.
