Remember a developer by the name of Art? Perhaps you do, but if you don't, then maybe you are more familiar with some of his work. Does a program called XFlash sound familiar? Hopefully you're familiar with Art's exceptional work by now. Well now he has a program out called Time Baby. It's essentially a clock program for the PSP at first glance, but it's more than that. Art may be known for peculiar programs, but this one is certainly a first in the homebrew scene.

Ok, get this… Time Baby is capable of a slew of features. First of all, it looks somewhat old-school which helps appeal to its charm. More importantly though, it can set the time precisely on a PSP with a GPS connection which now makes 3 ways to set the PSP time (manual/ wifi/ GPS)… but that's not all. Time Baby also will speak the time out loud at the touch of a button like many higher-end table clocks will do. But there's even more. It will also play your music files. But… you guessed it, there's more on top of that. There is also an alarm clock feature that can wake the PSP from suspend or standby mode(s). And still there's more. Every sunrise you'll even hear a rooster sound! But there's STILL ONE MORE THING! Time Baby can be used as the first-ever PSP heart rate monitor. "Wait a minute, did he just say that right? Heart monitor?" – YES, a heart monitor. If you don't believe me just take a look at the screen shot below or use the link below to download this file (courtesy of Exophase) or visit Art's link at the bottom for more information about this program.

The homebrew scene is swarming all over the release of RacePSP like flies on … well, you get the point. It's a Neo Geo Pocket emulator that doesn't yet have some of the features that diehard fans of the homebrew scene currently enjoy with most emulators (things like savestate support, for example). However, it's important to remember that this is only the initial release of RacePSP and the author fully plans to upgrade the emulator. Most people are having little to no problems but the author, Flavor, would like to add that users might experience graphical and/ or sound bugs. RacePSP runs both Neo Geo Pocket games as well as Neo Geo Pocket Color. This is certainly one of the emulators to watch for in the future. You may see this emulator released under the name, "Rather a Cardfighter Emulator", which, if you noticed the bold letters, is simply the full name of the emulator.

If you have a few minutes to kill and like talk shows, head on over to Gamespot.com's "Hotspot ". One of the highlights of the show is a segment in which the Hotspot crew talks about the possibilities of internal [as opposed to external] Blu-ray options regarding the 360. The show is fairly witty and humorous, however, they offer insight into an issue that few people have really had the time to say, "well… what if?".
The crew also talks about the news post under this one that relates to Take-Two possibly being purchased by EA. |

Couldn't get enough of Bioshock? Hopefully you answered, "yes" to that question because Bioshock is here to stay… Bioshock 2, that is. Expected to be released in the 4th quarter of 2009, Bioshock 2 is certainly a long ways from being complete. Why release the news of Bioshock 2 so early? IGN speculates it is a strategic plan to raise the value of the developing company, Take-Two, in order to profit more from EA. Recently, EA has been trying to purchase Take-Two, and since the first Bioshock has more than 2 million sales, it's fair to say that Take-Two is making a smart financial move, to say the very least.

As a result of recent decisions made by Toshiba, Hollywood studios, and retailers, Microsoft plans to withdraw from HD DVD. Xbox will no longer manufacture new HD DVD players for the Xbox 360, but we will continue to provide standard product and warranty support for all Xbox 360 HD DVD Players in the market. As we stated earlier, we do not believe this decision will have any material impact on the Xbox 360 platform or our position in the marketplace. HD DVD is one of the several ways we offer a high definition experience to consumers and we will continue to give consumers the choice to enjoy digital distribution of high definition movies and TV shows directly to their living room, along with playback of the DVD movies they already own.
Well did this really come as a surprise? Ever since Toshiba ended HD-DVD it wasn’t long before this would happen. I can almost confirm though a Blu-Ray Addon to the 360 in a short time.

Similar to BOOSTER’s DevHook; TimeMachine loads previous official/custom firmwares off the memory stick using a Pandora battery and custom IPLs.
The packaged readme details the available installation options, usage, known problems and considerations; I strongly encourage you to read that over before you begin. Find all the necessary firmwares here (official), and here (custom). TimeMachine v0.1 currently supports the following:
Other firmwares are said to be added in the future. |
