PSP Video 9 v1.60 Released

A new version of PSP Video 9 (v1.60), a video converter and manager to make your PSP life easier, has been released on the PSP. Due to some major coding changes, this version does not support upgrading, so you will have to do a brand new install for it to work. The folks at pspvideo9.com had this to say about their new version:

1.60 Changelog:
Added:
New FFMPEG Binary
Added:
Initial AVC Encoding
Added:
AVC Copy Section Support
Added:
Revised Menu Graphics

Release Notes:

Warning: The Fresh Install WILL overwrite your Profiles and Settings. You will LOSE your old Profiles and Settings.

It is possible to migrate your old profiles into the new 1.60 format. See this thread for details. View this thread BEFORE you install 1.60. This version of PSP Video 9 includes the latest MobileHackerz-compiled ffmpeg binary. This binary was compiled from CVS (with possible custom additions) a few days ago compared to the previous version used which was compiled in March. So you may see better (or same) support for different input files.

This copy of ffmpeg also has basic PSP AVC support. The method used by PSP Video 9 to create AVC files is NOT the same as the one used by PSP Video 9 AVC. Users will likely have better file compatibility with PSP Video 9. The downside is that this copy of ffmpeg seems to only create AVC video at a bitrate of 768k no matter what the bitrate is set to (hence we call it basic). You can however encode at a variety of audio bitrates.
