PS3 developer Evilnat has made a new update of his CFW 4.91 Evilnat Cobra 8.5 with these changes:

  • Updated kernel compilation
  • Updated stage2 payload compilation
  • Patched DEX kernel to bypass ambulance beep brick (DEX kernel loaded with CEX TargetID) (By Evilnat)
  • Patched to allow PS2CLASSICs on DEX (By Evilnat)
  • Patched to bypass SSL Handshake error on DEX VSH (By Evilnat)
  • Updated PS1/PS2 Emulators (By mrjaredbeta and kozarovv)
  • [COBRA] Added support for rap.bin (By esc0rtd3w)
  • [XAI] Temporarily disabled loading of external stage2 (due to lack of kernel space)
  • [XAI] Removed options “Enable FTP” and “Disable FTP” due to random freezes
  • [XAI] Added option Import Licenses to rap.bin (rap2bin) (By esc0rtd3w)
  • [XAI] Added option Export Licenses from rap.bin (bin2rap) (By esc0rtd3w)

  • CFW 4.91.3 Evilnat Cobra 8.5 [PEX] [BETA 2]


    • PEX = Custom Firmware CEX with DEX modules ported from 4.84 to 4.91. It’s like Rebug REX.

  • Use BGToolset 1.2.007 to your jailbreak PS3 currently on HFW/OFW 4.75 up to 4.91.
  • For self hosted jaillbreak use PS3Xploit Flasher Writer 4.90 or PS3Xploit Flasher Writer 4.91.

    If your console is already on any version of custom firmware CEX, REX or PEX just install CFW Evilnat 4.91 over your current version from XMB or recovery menu.

    Great update from Evilnat! I’m especially excited about the PS2CLASSIC compatibility. Can’t wait to test the new emulators and features 2 player games

    Is there anything on the HDD you particularly want? If not just stick a new drive in and use the UPDATE.PUP file to have cfw again :)
