Sony rolls out a new update for our PSP firmware bringing it up to 5.03. For those of you interested, here are the changelogs for this update according to Eric Lampel…

“Hi, everyone, I wanted to give you a quick heads up that a new PSP firmware update, v5.03, will be released soon. This is a small update that improves system software stability during use of some features.”

Now for all of us on the brew scene, we already know what that changelog means. It’s basically an update to prevent the new exploit found in gripshift. For those of you who own 2000 or 3000 model PSP’s and would like to have homebrew, I would advise against updating your firmware from this point onward until the gripshift exploit is perfected. Of course, on the other hand…if you enjoy what Sony has to offer then by all means update.

Thanks to Devil May Cry for the tip off.
