Google has given us a quick preview of Android 2.0 and what it can do.

Here’s a list of a few of the mentioned future features:

  • Text-to-Speech Support: Have your Android embedded phone read every little thing to you. Or, how about you talk to your phone and tell it what to do? What about voice dialing? This is a very nice update.
  • Gestures: By now, we all know what gestures are. You touch the screen and move it in a certain pattern to perform a command that usually would take a little longer- A shortcut. What’s nice about this, though, is that there are a lot of nifty ways they’re using this feature. For instance, say you’ve got a contact list that has 2,000 names in it and you don’t want to scroll all the way to the letter ‘M’. Well, you’d just draw the letter ‘M’ on the screen and wham! Cool, huh?
  • Android Search: This is a search that’s going to be coming soon to the Android phones. It’ll let you search for a term or filename and it’ll search your phone and the internet.
  • CDMA Support: What does that mean? Sprint support. Noice.

P.S. There is a release for 2.0 but it’s highly advised that only developers should download it to test out software because it is highly unstable. You’d have to wait a little while.. Sorry… :(
