Apparently, you will only be able to use the new iPhone firmware on the 3G and 3G iPhones. It seems like Apple may be rolling out with a new iPod Touch, too, if hardware limitations is the cause for this.

It’s good because all of you guys not made of money shouldn’t be allowed to use things like video recoding on your 2G’s, or multitask on the 2G, or MMS on your 2G because it’s impossible because of hardware limitations.
