![]() Our friends at NPH decided to add even MORE to their prize list for their custom gameboot contest that they are holding. As it currently stands, the first 6 entries will receive a free wristband! … but NPH is going further than that and a new rule has been created as well. First off, the new rule is that, "there must be ten entries into the contest in order to claim prizes". So watch out! With free wristbands on the line and with the prizes being more generous, it won't take long for those 10 spots to fill up. You can enter 3 gameboots into the contest but only the first one is allowed to receive credit for a free wristband and only one is allowed to be in the top 3 so remember that! For inquiry about the contest or official rules, go here .
The new prizes are….
1st: On top of getting a free game and $10.00 in cash, the 1st place winner will also receive 2 faceplates! One will be custom painted and the other will be stock/ clear!!
2nd: Along with the free game from Can We Hack It?'s library of games, second place will receive a clear faceplate as well!!
3rd: $5.00

Homebrew developer Richard Sparrow has just released PSPCP v1.0. This nifty little program allows its users to flash custom files to their psp as well as clear up some extra space to allow more room for your flashing needs.
As visible in the picture, the PSP control panel program can:
Flash 01-12.bmp (Background) Flash opening_plugin.rco (Start up) Flash gameboot.pmf (Game start up) Flash system_plugin_bg.rco (XMB Waves) Flash topmenu_plugin.rco (icons) Replace jpn0.pgf with smaller file Replace gb3s11518.bwfon with smaller file
The replace options allow you to clear up 2.5mb of flash0 space. However, by replacing gb3s11518.bwfon you will get half cut off text in your web browser.
I'm sure a lot of you who are skeptical about manually flashing files will find this program valuable. Happy brewing!
Please note, neither the members of pspbrew.com nor myself shall be held responsible for any mishaps during the use of this program.

Dark-Alex, the man responsible for bringing us such programs as SE and OE firmware, the 2.6 Downgrader, and HEN-D has announced that he will no longer be active on the PSP homebrew scene. As found on Dark-Alex's home page, he had written us a farewell message…
Bye, scene.
I've decided to cease OE development, and leave PSP scene.
Rather than let ourselves get all worked up about this news, we should instead thank Dark-Alex for all the hard work and time he had given to us.
Thank you Dark-Alex, and all the best in your future endeavours. |

Johnnyrainbow has given us a new way to chat amongst each other. Written in LUA, his messenger supports: MSN, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, and Gtalk in his application. It comes with quite fabulous skins and many features in which these many clients support, including the use of 'nicks. Johnny's chatter is patched and unpatched so if your using the patch be sure to have the WLAN switch on and a stable internet connection aswell! I'd reccomend a good PSP keyboard unless your a fast typer on the PSP, but this app has its own typing system, so not to worry! Heres some features you may be interested in: Simultaneous use of multiple accounts on differrent networks Ridiculously skinnable interface MP3 playback, remote support Audio alerts Chat logs (choice of enable or disable) Three original skins (+AFKIM skin) Uses the faster "danzeff" typing sytem (custom)

Apparently Sony has made an official 3.50 / 3.51 ISO loader in their new firmwares. The file is called "np9660.prx" and many are speculating that this is the first step in what Sony has promised us a long time ago – a virtual downloading resource specifically for the psp. Is Sony going to be selling commercial games via this service? Perhaps time will tell. All we know at this time is that the psp is ready for such developments in the future, so let's hope Sony gets their minds set straight and get this service up and running already.

Ok, you guys aren't stupid. Daedalus, the Nintendo 64 Emulator that StrmnNrmn has been working on for so long is starting to blossom into a more developed piece of homebrew. Not only that, it seems that the doubters out there might soon be holding their breath. Daedalus R12 boasts some nifty improvements. Improvements have been made specifically for Super Smash Brothers and 007 Goldeneye and I must admit, it's definitely quite exciting to see it at work, albeit a little slowly… but it's definitely an improvement! Here's the changelog and below are the download links. Enjoy!

![]() Recently, the Noobz team were able to bring a new exploit to the masses. Apparently it's a user-mode exploit that takes advantage of the buffer overflow in the savedata. Sound familiar? – well it should. That's the same type of method that was used in the Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories exploit which enabled all firmware 3.03 PSP systems to have the option of downgrading. Now, however, with this new exploit, supposedly ANYBODY on ANY firmware will have the ability to downgrade to version 1.50 – and that includes firmware 3.50 as well. Sony will try to fix this exploit, no doubt, but for now, the entire homebrew community is gracious to be revamped and excited for those select individuals that have been waiting for this downgrader in miserable anticipation.
The downgrader itself is not out yet, but it is said that it will be in a HEN fashion, similar to the other more recent downgraders. If you want to still check out this exploit working on your PSP, give it a try! The download link is below.

This is a bit of a crazy little mod. Although this device is not yet released "fully" around the globe, it has already been modified. See, the Go! Camera (or Chotto Shotto), recently the talk on many psp websites, apparently makes a rather loud and obnoxious sound when it takes a picture. The developer known as SparkyPSP has released a mod that has the ability to mute that sound. Actually, the root of this problem is related to Japan. In Japan, they have a law that specifically states that any digital camera must make an audible sound when taking a picture. Technically, in Japan, this may be breaking the law. On a side note, many places are beginning to talk of easily being able to take "upskirt" pornographic pictures. The purpose of this mod is to silence the camera noise. That said, the actual real-world use for this mod depends on the end-user. If you own one of these devices and this sounds appealing to you, make sure to pick up a download of this mod by clicking the link below.
