We've all seen the crazy new XMB modifications spring up out of nowhere these past couple of weeks. The mods that you see continuously popping up everywhere are results of people editing the .rco files within the PSP's flash0 (vsh/ resource – to be exact). This new mod will change the "busy" icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the psp (seen when loading a umd or accessing the memory stick). This mod comes to you from pimpmypsp and pspfreak101.
If you are a nut about modding your psp to the hilt, you should definitely check out this new mod. The file provided in the link below is red; however, you can most likely search and find other variations.
You can download this HERE. This has been tested to work on 3.10 oe-a as well!

If you are still hungry for mods, you should satisfy that hunger by modifying other aspects of your firmware. As of now, you can change your battery power indicator, your icons, your font, your gameboot, your bootsound, and my personal favorite… the XMB wave and other (more minor) things as well. If you want to learn more about these different things and see or show off your own, feel free to do just that in the forum. If you aren't a member, signing up takes just a few short minutes and will give you access to a great peer network here at pspbrew.com! |

Those of you with a wii may have noticed a blue fading glow coming from your disc slot this morning. I was suprised and excited to see an unannounced update today. Go to the wii shop channel then to "wii ware" and add the "Everybody votes" channel to your channels for free. Although I couldn't care less about eggs and there wasn't a choice for hating both of the mario brothers at least Nintendo is keeping up with additional content, no matter how useless.

When I first looked at the title I was thinking an actual 3D Mario Model, my first thought was N64 Mario, that this will for sure not be a fully completed game, because of the lag, he sais its possible to boost the FPS up, and the speed up to 90%. Heres what he said:
"This demo is never going to become a full game. It lags at certain points but could be sped up 90%, I didn't give a kwap though to put more time into it. My little Mario Demo is just a taste of what could be done if one actually tries (with just 6 days to code it + 1 day to port it to the PSP) This isn't within everyone's ability, and of course depending on the homebrew game 2D could be the better of the two. However this demo illustrates that 3D homebrew game is not impossible (take AnonymousTipsters' ThrottleX as evidence for that!) and therefore SANiK is giving developers the chance to finish this game; which apparantly can be achieved by starting from scratch using poly.c and math.c."
To be honest, Its pretty obvious C++ can have quite the potential, but in C, wow just amazing. All I want is your opinions on this. Download below. Enjoy! |

![]() It seems early 2007 is a pretty good time to be a PSP owner, especially if you were stuck with 2.81 or higher. With the new 3.03 Downgrader, now comes the newly decrypted, and now Custom Firmware: 3.10 OE-A! Other than the obvious change to 3.10 firmware, here are the changes made, excluding the new features of 3.10:
As for Popstation, the plugin released to load the 3.02 pops on 3.03 will no longer work, however, they expect a new plugin to be released next week! Now as for any program related to flash, there is always a chance of bricking your PSP. PSPBrew holds Zero Responsibility for what happens, but don't let that discourage you. Have fun with your new Custom Firmware!

3.03 Downgrader released!
It has finally come, Fanjita came, saw, and conquered 3.03. Just days after the proof of concept he released, he has produced a downgrader. We can expect Sony to make another update, then DAX to make another custom firmware. Any way, you will need both the 1.5 and 3.03 EBOOTS, and the 3.03 homebrew enabler that can be found at www.noobz.eu. This only works on 3.03 (But if you have 2.81+ just update to 3.03) Make sure you follow the “Downgrade-HOW TO” read me and you will make this out without brick. Thank you Fanjita and the Noobz team! Neither we at pspbrew or the Noobz team can be held responsible if you brick, enjoy!

Well I’ll be darned, Fanjita has come back with a hack for firmwares up to 3.03. Seems as if the GTA exploit was not fully patched. Right now it is just a proof of concept showing some text. Fanjita is going to wait a while and let us soak this in before he works on it more, he also wants to give Sony time to smack their heads and say “Doh!” The remaining question, is there venerability to kernel mode? Here is what Fanjita had to say, “It’s a bit tricky, but yes, ther kernel mode found by Team C+D still works from the Goofy exploit. The down grader will use this to perform its magic.” The problem is you will need a copy of the original, unpatched, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (No Vice City). The new UMDs in stores are patched, so look for used or a friend who has one. Here are the instructions
Enjoy, hopefully we wont get any more people asking for hacks for some of those newer official Sony updates. [ "Goofy" Exploit ] |

Despite the language barrier, I can tell a good app no matter what. A Brazilian developer, Luiz Pestana, has just released an excellent FTP app based on Zx-81’s PSPFTP. But here’s the thing, this version was developed for use on the OE firmwares, taking advantage of the higher firmware’s WiFi security. This kind of App is also perfect if you've lost or cannot find a USB cable for your PSP! Note that you must place it in the normal GAME folder, not GAME150 like any other homebrew. Great job Luiz, we hope to see farther updates to your new homebrew!
