New on Brewology: the Packaging Workbench, homebrew tools that don't require downloads

If you build, re-icon, check or submit PlayStation homebrew, there is a new section on the site: Homebrew Tools. The first tool there is the Packaging Workbench, and it runs in your browser. Nothing to install, nothing to download, works on Windows, Mac, Linux and phones.

What it does today:

  • PARAM.SFO editor: open any PARAM.SFO (PSP, PS3, PS4, or Vita), change the title, title ID, version, category and the rest, with each console’s limits enforced, and save it.
  • EBOOT.PBP repacker: swap the icon, background image and sound of a PSP homebrew without rebuilding it, edit its PARAM.SFO, and repack.
  • Vita VPK inspector: check a VPK before you install or submit it: firmware, LiveArea assets and sizes, the SFO, the structure. Preview the bubble and LiveArea, swap images, repack.
  • PS3 PKG inspector: what is inside a package, its content ID and metadata, and whether the XMB will show the right title.
  • Compare: open two versions of a package and see exactly what changed.

It also runs the same checks the Brewology store runs on submissions, so you can fix problems before you submit instead of after.
